MY STORY

From the Finnish archipelago via Manhattan and London, to Denmark

Finding my way through the (wrong) industry

THE GIRL WHO COULDN'T STOP DRAWING

My story begins on a small island in Finland

Growing up as the middle child in a family of five on a small island off the Southern coast of Finland, my favorite pass-time was drawing. My sketches brought smiles to those around me, and I knew I wanted to spend my life creating and making things that made other people happy. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Fashion Design. However, as I learned more about the fashion industry, I became disillusioned with its practices. I constantly found myself asking, "Why is no one doing this better?"

FINDING MY WAY THROUGH THE (WRONG) INDUSTRY

To Manhattan and London

Fashion internships in Manhattan and London further opened my eyes to the industry's flaws, but also inspired me to be the one, who did it better. Determined to create the most sustainable clothing line just to prove to the world it could be done, I set out to do just that. I created my debut collection where I sourced every single component from Europe, made sure they were super sustainable; either pre-recycled, organic or plastic free and made sure the carbon footprint would be as minimal as humanly possible.

This collection was to be debuted at the Ethical Fashion Fair in Berlin in 2015. But while preparing for the fair in Berlin, I desperately needed funds for the fair. Someone suggested making jewellery - a thought that had never crossed my mind but made a lot of sense. I could make it and sell it all on my own and in the same day. I realized I could design my own take on jewellery keeping it minimalistic with a clean aesthetic that reflected my style. Pieces, I had subconsciously perhaps always looked for, but given up searching for as I didn’t think anyone made them.

FINDING MY VOICE AT THE LONDON JEWELLERY SCHOOL

Teaching myself how to make fine jewellery

Determined to give it a go and try something new, I enrolled in a 6-hour silver smithing class at the London Jewellery School and was instantly hooked. Jewellery resonated with my personal belief of what a designer should stand for. It felt more sustainable, transparent, and honest than fashion. At the Ethical Fashion Fair, my jewellery ended up stealing the show, confirming my new path even further. I felt a deep sense of belonging at the bench, creating and perfecting pieces for each customer. This was my place in the world. I had full control of what my design legacy would stand for and could design and deliver with integrity.

I set up a make-shift studio in the livingroom of our 1-bedroom apartment and kept learning. A few months in, I set up my first web shop and the rest is history.

IN MY STUDIO ON ZEALAND, DENMARK

Landing in Denmark

Love brought me to Denmark where I have laid down permanent roots including my jewellery studio. From me to you, each piece is crafted with love and care, embodying my journey and commitment to sustainability and most of all - my commitment to you, a fellow resident of the only planet we have, as a responsible and mindful designer.
